Cross the world’s largest man-made lake to West Africa’s highest waterfall, climb Ghana’s highest mountain and be generous to share some bananas with the sacred Mona monkeys at Tafi Atome village. The trip is focus on exploring the South-Eastern Ghana.
The drive across the Volta Lake which is the worlds largest man made lake is a wonderful scenery and that’s where you realise exploration awaits you. You would be taken by surprise how beautiful the landscape looks like. Hiking Ghana’s highest mountain is a going to be an achievement but not an easy one, whereas, finishing in the plunge pool of West Africa’s highest waterfalls – Wli will be incredible. On this trip you will be exposed to herbal life and plants of the ancients Ghana and how ancient life in the caves was possible. You will not just explore!…but you will discover to connect.
Cape Coast – Oasis Beach Car Park & Accra Shopping Mall
0700hrs – Oasis & 0930hrs – Accra Shopping Mall
Put simply – expect a good time!! Our truck is designed for great visibility. Fully equipped with fridges and seat belt and wired for sound which will make your journey and adventure more enjoyable as the places we visit. You will have a wonderful and experienced team who will be available 24/7. What we expect is for your mind to be open and sense of adventure on high alert!
Day-1 The safari truck arrives at Oasis car park to pick up those in Cape Coast at 0630 and head out to Accra West Hills Mall. We are likely to do 2/3 hours drive to Accra. We will pick the Accra group up and depart to Root Yard guesthouse after lunch. After check in we will relax under shady mango trees with fresh organic fruit juice. After dinner we will be entertained with movies on a projector as we prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day-2 We will depart shortly after breakfast to the Monkey sanctuary and feed them bananas for breakfast. The monkeys are more friendly when you have bananas and they climb on you and eat the fruit from your hands. We will also enjoy a history talk about the sacred Mona monkeys. From there we will head out to Likpe Todome and see the historical caves. Up on top of the hill, which is geographically in Togo, you can see Togo villages. We will end the day at Big Foot Safari Lodge which will be our home for the next two nights.
Day-3 A challenging morning today! We will hike the highest mountain in Ghana. At the height of 885m above sea level you will get a better view of Volta and Togo villages and surrounding mountains. After descending we will hike to the base of West Africa’s highest waterfall and refresh ourselves under the 40m fall. We will return to Big Foot safaris for a bonfire and BBQ night.
Day-4 Today we will drive back to the shores of the world’s largest man-made lake. We will check in and have lunch and swim in the lake for relaxation. There are mini boats and canoes for those who would like to canoe on the lake. We will spend the evening relaxing in the floating bars at the resort. There is also a nightclub next door to go to if you feel like it.
We will depart shortly after breakfast to Accra and drop those who wish to stay in Accra and continue the journey to cape Coast. The final stop will be at Oasis car park.
