Since 1999 our founder has travelled, lived and worked in West Africa. In 2004 the first trips, run under the banner of Sabre Adventures, began arriving in Ghana both by road and air. The aim of these trips was to support community development initiatives. Those projects were funded by the income generated from each trip and clients could also physically contribute by working alongside local tradesman to the successful outcome of the project.
The projects were supported in the longer term by the Sabre Charitable Trust, a UK and Ghana registered NGO. Over the years a whole variety of trips have taken place which have supported a large number of education, construction and environmental projects. Each one has in turn contributed to the growth of the Sabre Charitable Trust, a charity working towards the sustainable future of Ghanaians.
The over riding aim has always been to create a self-sustaining organisation based in the area it works. Early in 2013 this aim has been achieved in the form of West African Safaris.
